APPLE KUCHEN 
2 c. flour
1/2 to 2/3 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
Apples, sliced, enough to cover dough
1 tbsp. lard
1 tbsp. butter
1 egg, beaten
Milk, enough to fill cup with beaten egg

Sift together 2 cups flour, 1/2 to 2/3 cup sugar, 3 teaspoons baking powder. Rub in 1 tablespoon lard and 1 tablespoon butter. Mix like pie crust. Beat 1 egg in cup, fill full with milk and add to above mixture. Mix until smooth, then pat into 3 large pie tins. Build up edges slightly. Cover dough with peeled sliced apples.

Mix 1 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon flour, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 2 teaspoons melted butter. Sprinkle over apples. Dot with several tablespoons sweet cream, if desired. Bake at 375 degrees for 35-50 minutes, depending on the apples.
