CANDIED YAMS 
6 med. sized sweet potatoes
1 c. white sugar
1 c. white Karo syrup
Juice of 1 lemon
1/2 stick butter
1/2 tsp. salt

Boil potatoes in jackets until tender. Peel and cut in slices or lengthwise. Place in buttered baking dish. Combine sugar, syrup, butter, lemon juice and salt; boil 2 minutes and pour over potatoes. Place in oven and cook until syrup is thick, basting several times during cooking. Bake at 375 degrees.
