CANDIED YAMS 
7 med. yams or sweet potatoes
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
6 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. raisins
1/2 c. whole cranberry sauce

Microwave yams on paper towel 18-20 minutes or until tender. Cool. Combine brown sugar, butter and salt in 2 1/2 quart casserole. Microwave uncovered 2 1/2 to 3 minutes or until hot and bubbly, stir once. Stir in raisins and cranberry sauce. Peel yams and cut into 1-inch slices. Add to casserole and coat. Cover and set aside.

When ready to serve, microwave 5 to 6 minutes, covered, until heated through, stirring once.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
