BULGAR PILAF | |
2 tbsp. butter (Promise) 1 med. onion, chopped 1 c. fine bulgar, cracked wheat 1/4 tsp. salt 2 c. chicken broth 1/2 c. chopped celery 1 c. sliced fresh mushrooms 1/2 tsp. dried dill weed 1/4 tsp. dried oregano 1/4 tsp. fresh ground pepper Melt butter in a large skillet; add celery, onion, and mushrooms. Stir constantly until vegetables are tender. Add bulgar and cook until golden. Add seasonings and chicken broth. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. Can be used as a side dish similar to cooked rice. Yield: 8 servings (118 calories) per serving. |
