BLACK DEVILS FOOD CAKE 
2 c. flour
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. baking soda
1 egg
2/3 c. salad oil
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. boiling coffee
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, salt and soda, then add egg, salad oil and buttermilk. Blend well and add coffee and vanilla. Put into greased 9"x13" pan, bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool.

FILLING:

3 tbsp. butter
1 c. milk
5 1/2 tbsp. flour
1 c. brown sugar
2 egg yolks
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine butter, milk, flour, brown sugar and egg yolks, beaten in double boiler. Cook until very thick, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add nuts and vanilla. Spread on top of cooled cake.

FROSTING:

6 tbsp. butter
6 tbsp. milk
1 1/3 c. sugar
1 c. chocolate chips

Combine butter, milk and sugar. Boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips. Beat until of spreading consistency, then spread on top of filling.
