ORANGE SLICE CAKE 
1 lb. orange slices (cut fine)
2 c. pecans
1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, chopped
1 (3 1/4 oz.) can coconut
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt (sifted together)
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda

Combine orange slices, pecans, dates and coconut and 1/4 cup of the flour and mix well. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix soda in buttermilk, add alternately with flour mixture. Add candy mixture, mix well.

Put into greased and floured 12 inch tube pan. Bake about 1 hour and 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

Mix 1 cup orange juice and 2 cups confectioners' sugar. Pour over hot cake. Let stand in pan overnight. Will keep in refrigerator for weeks.
