Popcorn Balls (Easy)

Hint, balls must be formed while the syrup is hot, else the popcorn will not stick. Suggest using a pair of those thermo baking gloves to protect you from the heat of the syrup.

It was a good snack. Really easy to make the sauce but hard to mold the balls. Tip: when you mold the balls, wait until the sauce cools on the popcorn. Also, when you pour the syrup on the corn, make sure you have wax paper under it.THE SYRUP IS VERY STICKY

we used this recipe when i was a little girl. here is a hint on making it stick together better. yes it has to be warm enough for the popcorn to be molded together but if you grease your hands and that will help with the molding of the balls

You can also add flavor. My gramma adds a small box of flavored jello. Usually cherry. They turn out awesome. Just add the jello to the boiled Karo syrup and sugar. Then mix and pour on popcorn. Also if u just barely wet the palms of your hands in cool water its easy to mold them into balls.. good eating :)

Great recipe and suggestions. I also have one....try adding red hots to the syrup for yummy cinnamon popcorn balls. Or, you don't even have to shape them into balls, just pour the syrup over the popcorn, stir gently to coat, and let cool!
