BOLOGNA SANDWICH
Buy some ham or bologna (one pack) and some bread (one loaf) and buy a little jar of mustard. Then you make yourself a bologna sandwich. Put the bread down on the table, put the bologna on it. Spread the mustard on the bologna. Put another piece of bread on the bologna, then eat it with some milk. Then clean up.

Bologna Sandwich

I love to to make a bologna sandwich with Hunt's (it doesn't have to be Hunt's, but that is my preference) BBQ sauce slathered on it, just enough to where it almost runs out when you try to eat it. It is even better if you fry the bologna in the BBQ sauce, but I always want to go ahead and eat the sandwich before I can go through the process of frying it.

I like this recipe and I have tried it in a couple of different variations. I have been eating it like John (Louisana) since I was a child and it is one of the easiest things to make. My kids love it, too.

Bologna sandwiches are the best whether plain, fried or boiled. Boiled bologna has a totally different taste but it is also my favorite. As children, my syblings and I took bologna sandwiches with us everyday to the cotton patch to eat for lunch. By the time to eat came around, those sandwiches that had got hot from the sun, even in the shade, tasted mighty good. thanks for the pleasant memories.

1st you need 1/4 lb Boars Head large 'german' bologna, white bread toasted lightly and Nathan's spicy mustard. Now you take the toast and spread the mustard and crinkle up the bologna when adding it to the sandwich. Now eat that with a cut of good Dunkin Donuts coffee or a good bottle of pepsi or coke. Now that is good eating!

I prefer mayo on mine. A few potato chips for a bit of crunch make it even better!

Growing up in South Boston we called fried bolony Irish steak. Hot dogs were called tube steak. If you run out of bolony you can slice hot dogs real thin and lay them on your first slice of bread then put the frenchs yellow mustard on the other slice, cause its easier than putting it on each slice of hot dog. We used to eat our bolony samwiches down on Carson beach, washed down with green Zarex.

I like to add a little sour kraut to the frying pan. Fry kraut until dry. Build sandwich with white bread and I sometimes like to add a slice of cheese. Yummy

Oscar Meyer makes a great turkey bologna, and a great turkey salami, at very reduced calorie levels. Both are really good

Awesome comments - LOL. I remember my Dad RIP, frying up bologna and all of us eating it straight or dipping it in Heinz Ketchup (gotta be Heinz). Also Hellman's mayo slathered on Oscar Mayer bologna roll it up and eat it up nice and cold. Nothing better. Haven't had it since I was a kid. Don't think my body or my arteries would handle it these days. But I can remember it like it was yesterday. Thanks for the memories. Now if I could just get my son to eat it.

In West Texas our version of the bologna sandwich is to roll the bologna up tightly then make a small incision in the end of a twinkie ...no matter which end and carefully insert the bologna ...and deep fry until crisp. We call it a bologna turducken instead of sandwich..Not meaning to sound like a culinary snob you can do the same with a dill pickle
