BOLOGNA SANDWICH
Buy some ham or bologna (one pack) and some bread (one loaf) and buy a little jar of mustard. Then you make yourself a bologna sandwich. Put the bread down on the table, put the bologna on it. Spread the mustard on the bologna. Put another piece of bread on the bologna, then eat it with some milk. Then clean up.

YES! Although I like the fancy deli or Subway bologna sandwiches, your simple and quick version is my very favorite to make at home. Big grin. I know there are lots of posts out there teasing you about its simplicity, but I wholeheartedly agree with you. Bread, balogna and mustard. Only thing I might add is a little butter on the bread first.

How did I miss this great recipe when it first came out? I was going to attempt to try this but I fear that I don't have enough culinary skills to do it properly. Like c'mon man, would I buy thin, thick, or garlic bologna? I have at least 6 types of mustard in my pantry, oh...and what type of bread would I decide upon on??? When I am ready to tackle this, I will use this recipe and go on tv and try to" Beat Bobby Flay" lol Happy holidays!

I replaced the bologna with sliced turkey since that's what I had. Added a lettuce leaf and bacon. Since my family doesn't like mustard I used mayonnaise. Also used whole wheat since white bread is bad for you. Great recipe!

Also, the last post was written very tongue in cheek.

Smiling as I remember teaching third graders to write directions. We used sandwiches as the prompt. I have a binder full of all kinds of sandwiches from PBJ to the more ambitious BLT. Some were delicious sounding, others not so much. Have to confess, I myself do not like bologna!!

Has anyone tried adding American Cheese to this sandwich, or even tweaking it a bit more as to having a "grilled" bologna and cheese sandwich? I have, delicious! Surprise, AZ

One of my best memories ever: My husband & I took my parents, who were in the 80's, on a trip to Nashville. My father had been in ill health for many years so it was an undertaking but he had always dreamed of going to the Grand Ole Oprey so we wanted to make his dream come true. As we sat looking at a menu and discussing what we were going to order for lunch one afternoon my Dad was very quiet. The waitress came and took each order with my dad being last. He looked up at her and with his eyes sparkling and a big grin on his face he quite proudly ordered a Fried Bologna Sandwich! I don't know that he had ever had one before nor did he ever have another but he surely enjoyed every bite of that one! I hold that memory very dear as he passed away a little over a year later... all because of a bologna sandwich!

Try this. One slice of white bread, spread with miracle whip, then bologna then 1 slice yellow cheese. Keep this face side open on a plate. then get another slice of white bread, spread with miracle whip then bologna then one slice of tomato. Put in microwave for 20 seconds. put together with a sandwich pickle in the middle and eat, yummy!!

Make it a Church Lady Funeral Sandwich, butter both pieces of bread liberally, add bologna or ham, no mustard needed!

Doctor this baby up. Fry the bologna. Toast the bread. Apply Duke's Sandwich Relish spread... add one slice of crispy lettuce... cut from corner to corner. This is "country steak" sandwich at its best. You do realize bologna is country steak... ALL Beef bologna is the best.
