ITALIAN COOKIES 
4 c. flour, sifted
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. Crisco
1/2 c. milk
3/4 bottle anise or almond flavor

Cream Crisco and sugar; add eggs. Mix dry ingredients alternately with milk and flavoring. Roll into balls of dough about the size of a walnut. Bake on greased cookie sheet 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 5 1/2 to 6 dozen cookies.

Frost with thin frosting confectioners sugar, milk, and butter. Use rest of bottle for flavoring (anise or almond).
