MO'S CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. cooked shrimp 1 lb. cooked crab Can use combination or only one. 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. flour 4 c. milk 2 tsp. salt 1 (6 oz.) can sliced mushrooms (optional) 1 tbsp. celery flakes 1 1/2 tsp. chopped green pepper, optional 1/3 c. green onion, chopped 1/2 c. black olives, chopped 6 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese Melt butter, stir in flour. Take off heat; add milk. Stir until smooth. Return to heat and cook until smooth and thick. Season with salt, add mushrooms, celery flakes, green pepper, green onions and olives. Mix well. Stir in shrimp, crab and 2 cups of the Cheddar cheese. Cook over very low heat until cheese is melted. Turn into shallow pan (9x13) and sprinkle with the rest of the cheese. May be prepared ahead and refrigerated until ready to bake. Bake 25-30 minutes in 350 degree oven. |
