I have been making these for years now. I share them at work and everyone loves them. It is my go to breakfast on-the-go. I regularly make them a couple times per month and they freeze well. The big thing for me is that they hold together unlike some bars that crumble all over and they are delicious. I usually make them with nutmeg instead of cloves and then I toss in chocolate chips, dried cranberries and almonds instead of the raisins.

Substitute butter for the oil. Much better.
