LAYERED LETTUCE SALAD | |
1 sm. head lettuce 1 c. celery, diced 4 hard cooked eggs, sliced 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, uncooked 1/2 c. diced green peppers 1 med. sweet onion, diced 8 slices bacon, fried and crumbled 2 c. mayonnaise 1 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. curry powder (optional) 4 oz. grated Cheddar cheese Shred lettuce and place in 9 x 13 inch dish (3 quarts). Layer remaining ingredients, in order listed. Add sugar and curry powder (if used) to mayonnaise and spread over top. Top with grated cheese. Cover and refrigerate 8 to 12 hours. Garnish at serving time with more bacon if desired. |
