JEWISH APPLE CAKE 
4 apples or peaches
5 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. flour, sifted
2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. oil
3 tsp. baking powder
4 eggs, beaten
1/4 c. orange juice

In large mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, vanilla, oil, baking powder, eggs and orange juice. Beat thoroughly. Pare and slice thinly apples and mix with sugar and cinnamon - coat all apples with mixture. Grease a tube pan. Layer batter and fruit mixture making three layers. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
