EASY CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS
The best and the easiest dumplings you have ever eaten!!!

1 to 2 lb. chicken
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 cans chicken broth (you may use bouillon cubes)
1 1/2 cups water
1 can peas
1 can carrots
1 pkg. refrigerator biscuits (buttered or unbuttered)
celery (I add if I have any)

Cut chicken into small chunks to ensure it will cook.

Combine chicken, chicken broth, cream of chicken, water, peas, carrots, and your choice of seasonings, such as parsley, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder to the Crock-Pot and turn it to low (high if you want it to cook faster). Cook until chicken is tender; about 5 hours but this will vary according to your Crock-Pot (newer ones tend to run at a higher temperature).

About 15 minutes before ready to eat, cut biscuits into quarters, roll into balls and place in the Crock-Pot. Stir occasionally. Cover again until ready to eat.

Easy Chicken and Dumplings

We've been making this recipe for years now. My husband and son love it! I cook it every couple weeks in the winter. So easy. I do add two cans of carrots instead of one, the second can drained.I also add two whole sticks of celery which I remove at the end. I usually start it around 12pm and run it on high in my "Crock Pot" brand 7 qt. slow cooker. I add my biscuit balls about 1/2 hour before it's done.I cut my large grands biscuits into about ten balls each. My family likes them smaller.

We added diced celery, a medium onion and half a large green pepper. Delicious!

Quick, easy and delicious. I used frozen instead of cannned veggies but even with canned I'm sure it is still great.

This was hands down the easiest an delicious recipe ever. My only tweak was I added a can of cream of onion as well. Didn't effect the consistency at all! Hats off to Megan for developing this one!

It was a very good recipe. The only thing I had an issue with was it was too liquidy. I should've added flour, but was in a rush. Very flavorful!

Always drain any veggie can you use before pouring into your slow cooker. I love Bisquick for my dumplings, my Mom and Grandmother always used it and I use it now. I am making this tomorrow for dinner and I cannot wait!

I have been craving chicken and dumplings forever now and was thinking I would love these. But for some odd reason mine came out gritty and texturized like the chicken broth and cream of chicken separated while cooking. Any suggestions?

My mom is from Oklahoma and any one who knows Oklahoma knows they can cook. This tastes just like mom used to make only not as hard - it is one of my family favorites!

I leave my house at 7:00 in the morning and I do not return until after 4:00. I have never prepared anything in my slow cooker that needed to be cooked that long. So, I prepare the ingredients in the crock the night before and put the crock in my refrigerator. In the morning I put the crock in the cooker and use a timer that my slow cooker plugs in to. If I need to cook the dish for 5 hours I can set the timer to come on at 12:00 and go off at 5:00 or earlier if I need to add more ingredients in the last hour. It works great!!

I make this in a similar way, but I cook it on the stove and I tear the biscuits into small pieces and drop them in. I want dumplings that sink and that are doughy. I use buttery biscuits because it gives it a great taste. Yummy.
