1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
2 squares melted chocolate
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix in as quickly as possible. 1 tsp. baking soda

Mix in water and soda and then add 2 cups sifted flour. Mix in as fast as possible. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes.

ICING:

10 tbsp. white sugar
4 tbsp. cream
2 tbsp. butter

Melt together. Cook 2 minutes. Pour over chocolate chips. About 1/2 cup is enough.
