CHOCOLATE CARAMEL BARS 
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 lb. caramels
Chocolate chips
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. melted butter
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

Grease 9x13 inch pan. Mix cake mix, butter, and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Pour half of cake mixture into pan. Press to cover bottom. Bake 6 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and pour chocolate chips over base.

Melt caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in double boiler or microwave and pour over chocolate chips. Sprinkle nuts over the entire pan. Crumble the remaining cake mixture over the top; will not completely cover the nuts. Bake 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees. Freeze well and thaw at least an hour before cutting into bite-size pieces.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
