EASY SHEPHERDS PIE | |
2 lb. ground beef 1 large onion, chopped 8 oz. pkg. sliced fresh mushrooms 1 (23 oz.) can beefy vegetable soup (family size) 1 (10 oz.) can cheddar soup 6 cups prepared mashed potatoes 16 oz. shredded cheddar cheese 2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. black pepper 1/2 tsp. garlic powder Brown ground beef, onion, and mushrooms until onion is just tender. Drain. In a 9x13-inch pan mix together meat mixture and both cans of soup. Level out. Sprinkle with 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Evenly spread the prepared mashed potatoes on top of the meat and cheese. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake uncovered at 350°F for 40 minutes or until cheese starts to brown. Variation: You can also replace the mashed potatoes with a small bag of tater tots. Note: If I have Parmesan cheese I put it on the edges of the casserole. It helps absorb any boil-overs. Submitted by: Soldan8 |
