MA'S SHEPHERDS PIE 
1 lb ground meat
3/4 cup oatmeal
1 egg
1/4 to 1/2 cup milk
salt
pepper
onion (onion soup mix works well here too)
8 potatoes
preferred cheese (Ma uses Velveeta because it melts easily)
1 can corn

Mix the meat, oatmeal, egg, milk, salt, pepper, and onion. Place it in a glass pie dish and bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes.

While baking, prepare your mashed potatoes. Add the cheese to the potatoes so that it can begin melting.

*Here is where Ma and I differ. I place the corn on top of the meat while she serves to the side.

Corn goes on top of the meat and then the potatoes on top of the corn. Feel free to add more cheese to the top of the concoction and bake a little longer for further melting goodness.
