GREEN PIGEON PEAS WITH RICE | |
1 sm. onion, chopped 1 Italian pepper, chopped 4 leaf Recao 4 cloves garlic 1 tbsp. vinegar 1/4 c. oil 1/4 lb. ham 1 pkg. Sazon Goya 1 tsp. salt 1 can green pigeon peas 1 1/2 c. long grain rice 3 c. water Blend onion, pepper, Recao, garlic and vinegar in blender. In saucepan, heat oil at medium temperature and fry the ham and the blended mixture. Add Sazon, salt, and peas and fry for 2 minutes on medium-low. Add rice and water. Cook covered until all water is absorbed. Turn the rice over and cover and simmer for 15 minutes until rice is soft. Ingredients are available at local super markets. |
