APPLE PIE SQUARES 
2 2/3 c. flour
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. Crisco
1 egg yolk dropped into 2/3 c. milk
4 c. sliced apples
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Egg white, beaten until stiff
1 c. powdered sugar

Mix flour, sugar, salt, Crisco and egg yolk in milk like pie dough. Roll out half of dough to fit a large jelly-roll pan. Spread apples, 1 cup sugar and cinnamon on top of dough.

Roll out other half of dough; put on top of apples. Pinch edges together. Poke holes in top. Spread egg white on top. Bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes. Glaze with powdered sugar mixture with a little water.
