APPLE PIE SQUARES 
6-8 sliced apples
1-1 1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Stir and let stand. Mix as for pie crust. Beat 2 egg yolks in a measuring cup. Add milk to 2/3 cup mark, add to crust mixture and blend. Divide into 2 parts. 3 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. shortening

Crush 1 cup cornflakes, sprinkle over bottom crust. Add apples and cover with top crust. Beat 2 egg whites until stiff and cover top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or more. While still warm frost with thin powdered sugar frosting large enough for large jelly roll pan. Makes 24-32 apple squares.
