MICROWAVE CARAMEL CORN | |
12 c. (3 quarts) popped popcorn 1 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. corn syrup 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter 1/2 tsp. baking soda Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, salt and butter in a deep microwave safe bowl. Cook 2 minutes, then stir and cook 2 minutes longer. Stir in baking soda, then pour over popcorn, which has been placed in a brown paper bag that has been prepared with non-stick cooking spray. Place in microwave and cook for 1 1/2 minute, shake. Cook another 1 1/2 minute, shake and pour out on cookie sheet to cool. Nuts may be added to the popcorn, if desired. |
