SOUR CREAM APPLE COFFEE CAKE 
1/4 lb. softened butter
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda

Beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Then add remaining ingredients. Place half the batter in a greased and floured 9-inch tube pan. Top this with 1 pared, cored, thinly sliced apple.

Sprinkle half the cinnamon mixture over batter. Then pour in rest of batter and sprinkle on remaining cinnamon mixture. (1 tablespoon butter may be cut into this mixture for top) Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.

CINNAMON MIXTURE:

1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. cinnamon
