CARAWAY CABBAGE 
3 slices bacon, diced
1 med. onion, cut into strips
1 med. cabbage, cut into strips
1 c. beef broth
1/4 c. white wine
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. caraway seeds
1 lg. apple, peeled and chopped
Additional cooked bacon for garnish (optional)

Cook bacon in a large Dutch oven until crisp; remove bacon, reserving drippings in Dutch oven. Saute onion in drippings. Add cabbage, broth, wine, and seasonings; cover and simmer 15 minutes or longer to desired tenderness, stirring occasionally. Gently stir in bacon and apple; cook 5 minutes. Garnish with additional bacon, if desired. Yield: 6 servings.
