LONG NUT ROLLS | |
2 1/2 c. flour 4 egg yolks 1/2 c. warm milk 3/4 c. butter 1 reg. gran. pkg. yeast 2 tsp. sugar Dissolve sugar in milk and add the yeast, beat well, let rise until foamy. (Add to dough mixture later.) (Nut mixture = 2 cups ground nuts to 1 cup sugar.) Add flour to a larger bowl, then mix in the butter well, then add slightly beaten egg yolks with the yeast mixture. Mix and knead very well in bowl, add some flour to prevent sticking, then divide into 2 equal parts, roll out dough on floured board 12 x 14 inch diameter, spread beaten egg whites over dough, add nuts to suit, roll up carefully, put on greased cookie sheet, brush with melted butter and puncture top with toothpick in several places, let rise for 30 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. |
