1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 1/2 c. sifted enriched flour
1 tsp. baking soda

Blend Crisco, brown sugar, peanut butter, salt, and egg. Add mixed dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten by pressing criss-cross with fork. Bake at 375 degrees 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on baking sheet 2 to 3 minutes before removing. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
