CHEESE AND SAUSAGE GRITS
CASSEROLE
 
1 lb. breakfast sausage
1 c. uncooked grits
4 c. water, lightly salted
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1/2 c. butter
2 lg. beaten eggs
1/2 c. milk
1 minced garlic clove

Form sausage meat into patties and fry until brown. Drain on paper towel. Crumble sausage in a bowl. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Prepare grits as per instructions on box. When grits thicken, remove from heat and stir in grated Cheddar. Cover and let stand several minutes. Stir in butter, eggs, milk and garlic until well blended. Stir in sausage meat. Pour into buttered baking dish and bake until lightly brown, about 1 hour.
