SCALLOPED TOMATOES 
2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
2 tbsp. chopped onion
1 tbsp. chopped sweet pepper (opt.)
1 tbsp. bacon grease
Black pepper to taste
1/3 c. sugar (more if desired)
4 slices bread, torn into sm. pieces

In large skillet melt bacon grease, add onion and sweet pepper. Cook until tender. Add tomatoes and sugar. Cook until bubbly hot. Sprinkle with black pepper, add bread and cook until slightly thickened (about 10 minutes).
