BARBECUE SAUCE FOR SPARERIBS 
1/4 c. vinegar
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 thick slice lemon or 2 tsp. lemon juice
1 onion, sliced
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. catsup
1 1/2 tsp. liquid smoke

Mix first 9 ingredients and boil or simmer 20 minutes, uncovered. Add catsup and liquid smoke and heat to boiling point. Boil spareribs on top of stove for 1 hour or so. Then bake with sauce for 1 1/2 hours in 325 to 350 degree oven. Baste often.

NOTE: This sauce is excellent with pork chops or steaks, also.
