MARTHA WASHINGTON CANDY | |
1/4 lb. butter 1 can sweetened condensed milk (NOT evaporated milk) 2 tbsp. vanilla 2/3 slice paraffin 2 lbs. confectioners sugar 1/2 lb. unsweetened chocolate 1 c. nuts, chopped Cream butter. Add sugar, condensed milk, vanilla and nuts. Mixture will be very stiff. Drop small pieces on waxed paper. Let stand several hours or overnight until dry. Turn balls over and when dry and hard, place on end of fork and dip into melted chocolate in which paraffin has been melted. Chocolate will be ready for dipping when you can place your hand on bottom of saucepan. Place on waxed paper. This is a nice Christmas candy and very, very easy to make. |
