ITALIAN COOKIES 
4 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
1/2 stick melted butter
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix dry ingredients in small bowl and set aside. Mix butter, eggs, and vanilla well in large bowl. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Roll out on a well-floured flat surface and make cookies. Cookie cutters work best when dough is rolled thick (about 1/2 inch). Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until bottom is slightly brown.

TO FROST: Mix water and confectioners' sugar and anise flavoring to icing consistency.
