CASSEROLE OF FIVE LAYER DINNER 
1 lb. ground beef
2 c. sliced raw carrots
1 can tomatoes
2 1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. sliced raw potatoes
1/4 c. minced onions
1/2 c. raw rice
2 tbsp. butter

Mix ground meat with 3/4 teaspoon salt. Mix rest of salt between layers of vegetables. Arrange potatoes in bottom of buttered casserole dish. Break up meat and sprinkle over potatoes. Sprinkle onions over meat and carrots over onion.

Mix tomatoes which have been heated to boiling with raw rice and pour over carrots. Dot with butter. Cover casserole and bake at 350 degrees F. for 2 1/2 hours or until vegetables are tender. Cut through all layers when serving.
