CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE WITH CREAM
CHEESE FROSTING
 
2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 c. sifted cocoa
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Dash of salt
2/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream thoroughly the butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Mix cocoa with flour, baking powder and salt; add alternately to batter with the milk and vanilla. Begin and end with the flour mixture. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan and bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until tests done. (It may also be baked in layers and frosted, 9 inch for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until tests done.

FROSTING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/2 stick butter
1 box powdered sugar (or more)
1 tsp. vanilla extract or 1/2 to 3/4 tsp. almond extract

Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add extract. Then add powdered sugar and mix well.
