FRUIT NUT SQUARES 
1 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tbsp. cinnamon
1 c. water
1/2 c. chopped, pitted prunes
1/2 c. chopped, pitted dates
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans

Sift together flour, baking soda and cinnamon; set aside. In 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat, bring water, prunes, dates and raisins to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 4 minutes. Remove form heat. Add butter and stir until melted. Cool completely.

Stir in beaten eggs, vanilla and nuts. Add dry ingredients. Stir until well blended. Pour into greased 9x9x2 inch baking pan. Bake in 350 degree oven 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in pan on rack. Cut into 2 1/4 inch squares. Makes 16 squares.
