MOCK CHICKEN FRIED STEAK | |
1 beaten egg 1 c. coarsely crumbled saltine crackers (20) 1/4 c. milk 2 tbsp. finely chopped onion 1 tsp. chili powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 lb. lean ground beef 2 tbsp. cooking oil Combine egg, 1/2 cup of the cracker crumbs, the milk, onion, chili powder, salt and Worcestershire sauce; add ground beef and mix well. Shape into 6 patties, 1/2" thick. Coat with remaining cracker crumbs. Cook in hot oil over medium high heat about 3 minutes on each side. Serve with warmed catsup. Makes 6 servings. |
