FRENCH FRIED ONION RINGS 
1 lg. Spanish or Bermuda onion
2/3 c. milk
1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Cut onion in 1/4" slices. Separate into rings. Heat 1" of oil in skillet. Beat remaining ingredients until smooth. Dip each onion ring in batter. Let excess drip back into bowl before frying. Fry a few onion rings at a time. Cook each side about 1 minute. Drain. Serve hot.
