BULLDOG BARS | |
2/3 c. butter, softened 1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. light corn syrup 1 tbsp. vanilla 4 c. quick oats 1 pkg. (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips 2/3 c. crunchy peanut butter Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 pan well. Cream together the butter and brown sugar. Stir in syrup, vanilla and oats. Spread this mixture on the bottom of the pan evenly. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and cool. (The mixture will not appear to be done, but it is. Don't over cook). In sauce pan, melt chocolate chips and peanut butter over low heat. Spread the chocolate over cooled oats and refrigerate until firm. Cut in pieces. Makes 2 dozen. Great after game treat and it tastes like an O'Henry bar. |
