SEEDBALLS
Birdseed
1 tbsp. honey
1 egg

MATERIALS:

Fork
Lg. cup
1/2 egg carton
Plastic wrap
Yarn
Sharp-pointed scissors
6 sm. metal balls

1. Mix the egg and honey in a cup with a fork.

2. Pour in the seed until the cup is 1/2 full and mix it again. Add more and more seed until the mixture is fairly stiff and keeps its shape on the fork when you lift some out.

3. Line the egg carton with the plastic wrap. Do this by laying the plastic over the top of the carton and pressing into each of the egg sections.

4. With the point of the scissors make a hole in the bottom of each of the six sections of the egg carton. Be sure to cut through both the carton and transparent wrap.

5. Cut 6 pieces of yarn 8 inches long.

6. Fold one of the pieces of yarn in half. Thread the two ends through one of the holes in the egg carton from inside to outside. Leave a loop 1 inch long inside the egg carton.

7. Do the same with the other five pieces of yarn.

8. Fill each of the egg carton sections with the seed mixture, holding the yarn loops upright as you do so.

9. If you wish, push the wire loop of a metal bell into the top of each section of the seed mixture.

10. Let dry for at least four days. Turn the egg carton upside down on the fourth day and cut away at the bottom of each egg carton section.

11. To remove the bells from the egg carton first cut along the divisions between each section. Snip into the rim of each mold 8 or 10 times. Then carefully peel the pieces off. Peel off the plastic wrap.

11. Hang 1 bell at a time in the birds cage.
