CANADIAN CHEESE SOUP 
1/2 c. chopped onion
4 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. flour
4 c. milk
4 c. chicken broth
1/2 c. chopped carrots
1/2 c. diced celery
Dash of salt and paprika
1 c. diced American cheese (may add more, if desired)

Cook onions in butter until tender. Blend in flour. Add all the remaining ingredients, except cheese. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Reduce heat; add cheese. Stir to melt. Simmer 15 minutes. Serves 8 large servings.
