CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
1/2 lb. (2 sticks) butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 c. milk
1 c. cocoa
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift flour, baking powder and cocoa together. Add alternately with milk. Add vanilla. Pour into a 10-inch tube pan. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350°F. Do not overbake. Cool before removing pan.
