GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. German sweet chocolate

Cream sugar and butter, then add eggs, vanilla and buttermilk. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt and mix well. Then add German chocolate that has been softened in microwave or in a double boiler. Blend together well. Pour batter into 9x5-inch loaf pan that has been well greased and dusted with flour. Bake at 300°F for 1 1/2 hours. Place cake under a tight fitting cake cover, while still hot, and leave covered until cold.
