CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE WITH
CHOCOLATE ICING
 
POUND CAKE:

1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. Crisco shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1/2 c. cocoa
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/4 c. milk

Cream together butter, Crisco and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa. Add to cream mixture alternating with milk. Beat well. Add vanilla extract. Bake in 300 degree oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes to 1 hour and 25 minutes until it tests done.

NOTE: If your oven temperature cooks slow you may want to use a 325 degree oven.

CHOCOLATE ICING:

1 sm. pkg. cream cheese
3-4 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 box powdered sugar

Mix cream cheese, milk and vanilla extract; beat well. Add cocoa, beat well. Add sugar and beat until smooth. Spread on cold Chocolate Pound Cake.
