CUCUMBER PICKLE 
7 lb. cucumbers
2 gal. water
3 c. lime
5 lb. sugar
3 pt. vinegar
1/2 box pickling spice

Soak 7 pounds of sliced cucumbers in 2 gallons water with 3 cups lime for 24 hours. Soak in clear water for 4 hours, changing water every hour. Place in boiler 5 pounds sugar, 3 pints of vinegar, 1/2 box pickling spice tied in a cloth. When hot (do not boil), pour over cucumbers and let stand overnight. Cook 1 hour slow, put in jars and seal.
