BANANA NUT COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 bananas (1 c.)
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Mash bananas with fork and add to the mixture. Add buttermilk and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and slowly add to the mixture. Stir in nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool and frost.

FROSTING:

3/4 box powdered sugar
Dash of salt
Canned milk
1/2 c. melted butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine sugar, salt, butter and a little milk. Beat at slow speed with mixer until desired consistency is reached. Add vanilla.

Great and easy recipe. I put 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup shortening. I used 1/2 cup Carnation milk mixed 1 tbs vinegar instead of the buttermilk and omitted the nuts. Absolutely delicious cake like cookies.
