CINNAMON CRUNCHIES 
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
2 tbsp. milk
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 egg white

TOPPING:

3 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Sift flour, salt, and cinnamon. Cream shortening and blend in sugar, creaming thoroughly. Blend in egg yolk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and milk, mixing well. Spread evenly in ungreased 7 x 11 inch pan. Beat egg white lightly and spread over surface of dough. Spread topping over all and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cut while warm.
