MOM FREELAND'S CHOW CHOW | |
1 peck tomatoes 1 doz. peppers 1 doz. onions 1/2 c. salt 3 tbsp. celery seed 3 c. sugar 3 tbsp. mustard seed 2 pt. or more vinegar Grind up in grinder tomatoes, peppers and onions. Leave to set and ferment overnight with 1/2 cup of salt on top. Next day drain, then add sugar, celery seed, mustard seed and vinegar. Mix and cook for about 1/2 hour. Put in jars, seal and cool. |
