SQUASH AND APPLE CASSEROLE 
1 large pear shaped squash
apples (ratio of 2 c. cooked squash to 1 c. cooked apples)
butter
salt
brown sugar
cinnamon

Cut up squash in large chunks and boil until tender. Remove skin and cut into small pieces. Pare and cut up apples and boil until tender. Butter baking dish. Add 1 layer of squash, then layer of apples. Dot with butter. Sprinkle on salt and brown sugar. Make 3 layers. Top entire dish with cinnamon and bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes.

Note: If using cooking apples, add sugar to taste. If using Delicious apples, use less sugar.
