RUSSIAN TEA COOKIES | |
1 c. butter 1/2 c. powdered sugar 2 1/4 c. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 3/4 c. finely chopped pecans Cream shortening; add sugar gradually. Cream well. Sift flour and salt together; add to creamed mixture. Work with hands until mixed. Add vanilla and nuts. Chill dough. Form into balls 1 inch diameter. The dough will be crumbly, but it's well worth the effort! Put on greased tins. Bake 14-17 minutes in moderate oven. When done, roll immediately in powdered sugar. When cool, roll again in powdered sugar. |
