FRUIT COOKIES 
1 lb. candied cherries, chopped
1/2 lb. dates, chopped
8 c. pecans, chopped
1 c. butter
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 lb. candied pineapple, chopped
1/2 lb. white raisins
1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. hot water
3 c. flour
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. baking soda

Combine the cherries, pineapple, dates, raisins and pecans. Pour 1/2 cup flour over all this and set aside.

In another bowl, cream the butter. Add sugar, eggs, hot water and vanilla; set aside.

In the third bowl, mix the flour, salt, allspice, cinnamon and soda. Mix together and add to the butter mixture. Then add the butter mixture to the fruit and nut mixture. Drop by spoonful on well-greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes.
